FIESTA FUN!
I love a good fiesta theme! Whenever I host a party, it’s one of my go-tos because it’s fun and easy to style! All you really need are a lot of bold colorful items. Today I’m sharing some of my favorite fiesta themed decorations, for a fun and easy pop-up party at home, just in time for Cinco De Mayo…OR really any Taco Tuesday.
I love collecting inspo whenever I travel. The pics below are a few images I snapped of some restaurant table set-ups on 5th St, in down town Playa Del Carmen last May (insert sad face). What I would give to be there now.
Everything was vibrant, bold, and eclectic - a mixture of all types of textures and patterns. Pairings I would have never dreamt of putting together, and it all worked together so unbelievable well. I definitely took note. No Matchy-matchy when hosting a fiesta….
I always start with one vignette that will serve as a focal point whenever hosting a themed party of any kind. This one was easy, I went through my bins of leftover party decor and basically pulled out anything that was vibrant and bold - Tissue paper, pom pom garland, paper tassels, anything that had color. One of the other keys to making a party vignette stand out are LAYERS. Don’t be afraid to let things overlap - it draws the eye in and makes everything feel richer, and bigger! It’s also important to have things at varying heights and lengths.
These Cutout cactus plates are adorable and can be found on Etsy, but I also found a similar set at Target.
My mom and I in Isla Mujeres last April, we celebrated her 60th birthday there and it was an absolute dream. These palms look like might have gotten a little too much sun, but the faux ones below from Amazon will last forever and are an easy way to add a pop of green and set that paradise vibe.
Throw in some wooden maracas and layer atop a macrame table runner and you’ve got yourself a spread!
I scored these wooden maracas for $1/piece at a market in Play Del Carmen, but I found some cute minis on Amazon too.
Finally, what’s a fiesta without some photo booth props? Create a cute layered backdrop with these paper flags and some fiesta balloons. These flags can also easily be made (similar to how you would make a paper snowflake), if you’re looking for a fun quarantine craft. All of my Fiesta Faves linked below!
